Cannot Remove Project Files

description

Once a file is added to a project, the files cannot be removed via the Solution Explorer. If you right-click the file, then there is no "Delete" option. Similarly, the Delete key does nothing.

Removing the file manually from the Project file does do the job, however.

I tried removing the file manually, that caused subsequent errors.

Removing the file manually from the project file does seem to work.

This also affects folders in the project.

just spend the last hour trying to delete an item... ruining my solution in the process...

Think I figured it out.

First. Delete the File.
Then, (while IronPython is closed) edit the .pyproj file and delete the line where it says:
<Compile Include="the_file_name.py">
  <SubType>Code</SubType>
</Compile>
make sure that your project isn't open in IronPython Studio, or the result of editing .pyproj can give you problems.
