DO NOT INSTALL! It will be painful. If you have any project that uses IronPython and VS, you will have to reinstall Windows to get it to work again after installing this. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS PAIN!

This project did not have any activity since a long time and the one and only release from 2007/8 did always have a lot of issues and is not compatible with the recent IronPython and .NET releases.

1. IE8: Download unpossible. You get in a Loop between: The 'I Agree-Dialog' and a new HTML-Page with an error message. 2. Firefox: You get a file named 'filedownload.aspx'. SAVE IT! It's the original file. You have to rename it! 3. For 'IronPythonScreenCast' the user can see that is should be a .WMV-File but he can't see that the other files should be .ZIP-Files (There were .MSI-Files inside!)

Installed using IronPythonStudioIntegrate
d on Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0.30729.1 SP, IronPython 2.6.10920.0, and Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise. Console python project compiled/ran for me. I love Visual Studio auto-completion and syntax highlighting, trying to get that to work with other editors (e.g. Notepad++) was a lot more difficult!

Broken, install instructions don't work. Out of date with the current release of IronPython. Agreed with below who said no matter how much you love VS this product isn't worth it.

Has this project been abandoned? Out-of-date installation instructions (hint, use VS2008 shell SP1, and don't forget to install the redistributable binaries after installing the pack.), if you use pre-SP1, you will find that the UI won't display any XAML forms, and regardless of this, it looks like there are numerous glitches and issues - presumably because .NET has moved forward significantly.

With the advent of IronPython 2.6 just around the corner, I'd recommend that you do NOT use IronPython studio for IronPython develoment. Even if your fingers are welded to Visual Studio keystrokes, the time you'll spend learning Eclipse is less than the time you'll waste trying to fix the screwups that Studio puts in your code. And debugging is broken. Look in the discussion for more details.

It would be great if it works, but it does not. "Can not find one or more installed components. Please reinstall IronPython". I used both packages 'isolated' and 'isolated SP1'. No luck...

Despite that it currently does not support IP2 a very good approach for a IronPython IDE. It would be highly appreciated if the development would be continued, possibly even by Mircrosoft
