Hello
When I change any text in form (name , button and ...) to Persian text (for example 'فارسی' or 'کلید') and run the project I see ????? and the program don't show the text correctly.

I have Installed VS2008 and IronPython Studio. Trying to add some Persian an anywhere, and save the project, I get a fatal error. IronPython Studio stops working and this damages the project.

I have white text on a dark blue background for all the other languages in VS, but it doesn't work for python as I can't seem to change the color of identifiers - they're all black, which makes them near invisible. Could the color please be made configurable?

1. IE8: Download unpossible. You get in a Loop between: The 'I Agree-Dialog' and a new HTML-Page with an error message.

2. Firefox: You get a file named 'filedownload.aspx'. SAVE IT! It's the original file. You have to rename it!

3. For 'IronPythonScreenCast' the user can see that is should be a .WMV-File but he can't see that the other files should be .ZIP-Files (There were .MSI-Files inside!)

4. For the VS 2008 Redestributable packages (integated and isolated) where newer Versions (with smaler sizes!) avaiable on

5. For the isolated version I run into Issue 1679; Because of having VST 2008 alredy installed I deinstalled isolated and installed integrated version. This work for me whithout missing components.

Once a file is added to a project, the files cannot be removed via the Solution Explorer. If you right-click the file, then there is no "Delete" option. Similarly, the Delete key does nothing.

Removing the file manually from the Project file does do the job, however.

Think I figured it out.

First. Delete the File.
Then, (while IronPython is closed) edit the .pyproj file and delete the line where it says:

make sure that your project isn't open in IronPython Studio, or the result of editing .pyproj can give you problems.

After install ironpython studio, I met "cannot find one or more components, please reinstall the application" error message.

my os is windows xp with sp2.
I install visual studio 2008 RTM first, ironpython, and then add the folder into environment variables list.

When I try to install ironpython studio, everything goes well. but finally when try to load ironpython studio, nothing loading except the error message "cannot find one or more components, please reinstall the application".

what should I do?

i found the way to solve the problem.
1. download Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Shell (isolated mode) Redistributable Package (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ACA38719-F449-4937-9BAC-45A9F8A73822&displaylang=en)
2. extract the package and run vs_shell_isolated.enu.exe which will be located by default in(C:\VS 2008 Shell Redist\Isolated Mode)
3. reinstall ironpython.

I use IronPython Studio to compile my projects but I'd like to know which command does it use. Because I tried to do it using pyc.py, compilation goes fine but when I launch the program, an exception is Raised.

Error that I don't get with the same program compiled with IronPython Studio or directly launched from a Terminal.

So what I'd like to know is how IronPython compiles projects.

From what I know, IronPython projects aren't "compiled". The .NET assembly for a given class or program consists of the ipy interpreter, which in turn interprets the Python code.

I had a previously installed Visual C# Express, but I uninstalled it.
I re-installed the isolated shell and Ironpython Studio, but the problem pesists.

From the command line run devenv.exe /ResetSkipPkgs (devenv.exe can be found in the Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE directory or similar install directory). That resolved the problem for me.

Using IronPython studio integrated installer. Create a project within an existing directory. Attempt to add missing files by clicking the "show all files" button. No files are shown.

Adding them one-by-one allows you to edit them as normal, but there is no way to add them in bulk.

It would be great console application output was hosted in the visual studio environment. This could be achieved by routing input/output to the output, or a python specific, window. This would enable a more fluid iterative development workflow where you could see/test/copy the output of your program without having to leave VS, as well as persist the results of your application for further analysis or refinement.

Currently you can use System.Diagnostics.Debug.Write(), but this suffers from being debug specific and requires you to change the 'show output from' selection after every compile. Ideally the workflow would resemble what you get when developing python in SciTe (one window for code, another window for I/O).

Awesome work on the project so far!
